This was on my front lawn this morning. It is some kind of wood pecker but they are called a flicker. They are very rarely found pecking wood but more digging in the lawn to eat ants. Some people call them a polka dot bird because of the polka dots on their chest. And you should have seen the BRIGHT yellow under his wings and tail when he flew away it was amazing!!
